“Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls, they give us hope!” ~Toni Robinson
Do you know of someone who is having difficulties in school? At home? Is this person failing, defiant, struggling, or unfocused? Could they use a “leg up” from our equine program?
A Leg Up,
Inc. teaches participants how to communicate and build relationships with
horses. In doing so, the program encourages participants to take ownership and
responsibility of their lives.
Equine Facilitated Learning realizes many benefits for program participants
including improved communication, teamwork, self-confidence, work ethic, self
esteem, healthier relationships, greater recognition of responsibility, and
appropriate assertiveness.
Equine Facilitated Learning has proven, research-documented results. It has been
clinically documented that just being around horses changes the brain wave
pattern of humans, causing people to become calm and more centered and focused
in the present.
Equine Facilitated Learning Encourages Participants to:
•Discover and shape a goal for the future.
•Develop a solution-focused approach to problems.
•Regain self-esteem and self-confidence.
•Practice setting boundaries.
•Improve verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
•Deepen trust and respect for self and others
A Leg Up, Inc. is located in Caledonia, Illinois, just Northeast of Rockford at
Runestone Farm.
